The Future of Anal Sex

Most of us use lube when we have butt sex, to get the ass nice and slick. Wouldn’t it be nice if the lube also had a special ingredient that offered some protection against HIV and other STDs?
With that opening paragraph, Jim Pickett of AIDS Chicago begins a fantastic post called The Future of Anal Sex on rectal microbicides and their possibility for reducing HIV infection among gay men. Since Jim and I connected last October when I did an interview with him that you can read here, he has become one of my favorite activists. He has a lot of smart things to say about gay men, sex and why we need more innovative approaches to building stronger and healthier gay male communities.

Actually, incogman, heterosexual couples are more likely to engage in anal sex than homosexual couples. Are they wrong, too? And what’s with the name? Are you too chicken to make such statements openly?
