Military Fired 58 Gay Arabic Linguists

You don’t have to be all that smart to get how dumb it is to fire 58 Arabic linguists for being gay when we are fighting two wars in countries were the predominant language is Arabic. I mean seriously. 9/11 happened in part because our intelligence agencies did not have enough trained Arabic specialists to translate the backlog of intercepted messages and the military is firing dozens of Arabic specialists because they may be a little too attached to their collection of Madonna memorabilia?

Lawmakers who say the military has kicked out 58 Arabic language experts because they were gay want the Pentagon to explain how it can afford to let the valuable specialists go.
Seizing on the latest discharge, involving three specialists, House members wrote the House Armed Services Committee chairman on Wednesday that the continued loss of such “capable, highly skilled Arabic linguists continues to compromise our national security during time of war.”

More than 25 of our allied countries including our international BFF Great Britain allow gay and lesbian soldiers to serve openly and proudly while the Pentagon insists on engaging in witchhunts, electronic snooping and gossip-mongering.

I posted this video from SLDN earlier, but I am posting it again because it is one of the most compelling examples of what we lose out on being banning openly gay soldiers from the military.
