Young Republican Gay Sex Scandal

August 8, 2007 at 7:25 am 4 comments

The Republican parade of hypocrisy and sex scandal keeps on keeping on. Now comes word that the recently elected head of the Young Republican Federation Glenn Murphy has abruptly resigned amid allegations that he sexually assaulted a sleeping man at the home of the man’s sister. And, apparently that’s not the first time. Murphy has a prior arrest for sexual battery in 1998.

Holy Mark Foley!

Murphy was an up and coming Republican activists who had no problem whatsoever whipping up anti-gay hysteria over the marriage issue to give his chosen candidates a leg up. Now Murphy has had to resign from his position with the Young Republicans and as chair of the Clark County Republican Party in Indiana. In fact, the Young Republicans website has been purged of any mention of Murphy.

The police report has been leaked in this case and it is NSFW.

Murphy joins a growing list of Republican hypocrites who have been hit with allegations of sex scandal recently including Senator David Vitter, State Representative Bob Allen, former congressman Mark Foley and an assortment of conservative religious leaders.

Joe has more.

I think the constant repression is getting to them. If they were to just come out of the closet and be themselves, they would find less of a need to assault sleeping people or to cruise public bathrooms.

What is it with closet cases and the Repugnican party? It’s like fundamentalist christian gays or Catholic priests, it seems like self-denial leads them down a felonious path. Why do they not choose to elevate their mind, be liberated, and get out of the closet trap?

thats such a shame men with such power should be able to be them selves and if they are representing the people, i am sure 65% of people wouldn’t mind their sexuality, i thought it wasn’t a problem anymore, be your self rather than misusing their power and influence to comet crimes.
