There is far more to the LGBT political scene than meets the traditional media eye. Here are links to some issues that should be receiving broader coverage that I found on the interweb.

Blogger Jasmyne Cannick calls out rapper Ja Rule for ridiculously anti-gay statements he made in a recent interview in an incredibly smart post that you can readhere.

Waymon Hudson ask why should the LGBT community tolerate “tolerance.” Why indeed. “Tolerance” sounds like something used for when you find someone or something distasteful, but make no comment on in polite company. Read what Waymon has to say and join the conversation here.

Chris Crain has a great post about vicious anti-gay hate crime from 2004 that will make your blood boil with anger. The 18 year old victim was beaten, cut, stabbed and strangled by three friends. Chris points out how the media coverage surrounding the trial of the murderers leaves out the salient facts that anti-gay hatred play a key role in the murder and that Alabama has no hate crimes law or that a hate crimes bill is pending in Congress.
