The House Education and Workforce Committee just voted 27-21 to report the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (H.R. 3685 — which provides workplace protections based on sexual orientation) out of committee. All Republican amendments on the legislation were defeated.

Four Republicans, Congressman Mike Castle (R-DE), Congresswoman Judy Biggert (R-IL), Congressman Todd Platts (R-PA), and Congressman John Kuhl (R-NY), voted in favor of the bill.

Four Democrats, Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ), Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) voted against the bill citing the removal of gender identity.
