“Ex-Gay” Donnie McClurkin is Not So “Ex-Gay”

October 26, 2007 at 9:05 am 121 comments

Donnie McClurkin, the African American gospel singer and so-called “ex-gay” is apparently not as “ex-gay” as he would have everyone believe. Blogger Clay Cane has an interview with a former bed buddy of McClurkin’s who says clearly that he had sex with McClurkin after McClurkin claimed to have prayed away the gay.

McClurkin has made remarks claiming that he is in a “war” with homosexuality and that homosexuality is not God’s intention. He is scheduled to perform at an event for the Barack Obama campaign in South Carolina. Barack is not scheduled to attend the event and has added an openly gay minister to deliver the opening prayer.

…How long were you guys being sexual?
Off and on for three years, 2001 to 2004.

During this time to 2001 to 2004 is really the height of his anti-gay rants. The book came out, he made comments, he told the New York Times in 2002 he’s counseling adolescent boys to convert them from homosexuality. Would you hear about these rants?
Every time I’d read an article in Ebony or Jet, or whatever, I’d just hear it—I’d get upset and we’d always have an argument about it. He said, “I told you.” I said, “It’s crazy. What you’re doing is crazy. You’re writing this stuff, but yet you’re still doing it.” I said, “I have a problem with that. What’s wrong with you?” He said, “I have a problem.”

What do you think he meant by “I have a problem”?
It’s something he just can’t control. He feels that he has to say that to please people. He said, “I don’t want people to believe that I’m still doing it.”
…Do you think being violently homophobic was the key to his success? There are so many gay people in the gospel music industry. Why did he have to be so—So like he was?

Yeah—so like he is! Even right now…
It seems like every time he was attacked in the media, or word was getting around, it just seemed like it made him even madder. He had attacked gays, the lifestyle, when something was written about him—one lady wrote an article, “The Sins of Donnie McClurkin”, I mean, it was scathing. It’s since gone now, I tried to find it today and Keith Boykin, he’s written some things. Every time somebody would do that he would counterattack. The articles, the hearsay would make him just go crazy and he was not fun to be around. One time we met and it was him sitting in a bed Indian style and me sitting in the hotel chair looking at TV. No sex, no nothing…

The more information that comes out, the clearer it becomes that he is an angry and bitter man whose psyche has been twisted a childhood rape by a male relative and homophobia in the Black community and the gospel industry in particular. He is an emotionally damaged person with serious internalized homophobia.

He is a perfect example of why Black people need to confront head on issues of homophobia and the use of religion to attack LGBT people immediately.

I don’t believe that any serious evangelicals think that to be an “ex-gay” you have to no longer have any homosexual attractions or orientations. The very conservative president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Al Mohler, doesn’t think homosexuals choose their orientation, which is especially unusual. Three years ago he gave a sermon at a conference where he made these remarks, and for what it’s worth, the .mp3 can be downloaded at http://www.desiringgod.org/media/mp3/conferences/national2004/04_20040925_mohler.mp3 The significant portion of the talk begins at 46.00 and continues for eleven minutes.

The “ex-gays” probably get more action than us current gays. Well, at least we aren’t trying to hide it.

I am amazed at how some people attack a person because of what he/she believes. If this is what Donnie believes, so be it. If I or someone else disagrees with what he says, then we disagree. But to attack a person for what he stands for makes the accuser no better off, than what “gays” stand for. What is our standard for truth? What we believe? What the majority of people believe? What scientist or psycologists believe? How is attacking Donnie making what one believes anymore credible than what Donnie believes…..

I think its you and McClurkin who are hating. We are just living our lives and refusing to be cowed by haters like you and McClurkin.

BTW, if you’re so straight, why are you reading a gay blog?

My opinion is that it is whatb it is.I mean if he says that he’s prayed the gay away and he knows it’s not true then he is the only one that has to answer to God for that.I dont’t believe he should put homosexuality down not because he used to be but because this weekend my grandfather told me God died for all of our sins.Just like he died for fornification, cursing, etc, HE DIED FOR PEOPLE LIKE DONNIE TOO.SO STOP HATIN BECAUSE DONNIE IS MY FAV GOSPEL SINGER STRAIGHT AS AN ARRO OR SWEET AS SPLENDA

I think this is a case between Donnie and God. who are we to judge him? everybody on earth has sin but those who accepted Jesus as his /her savior has a mediator in Jesus who stand in the gap for us(Romans 8) Rather look at your own life and straighten that with God than to sit and say nasty things about Donnie. At least he is calling out to God for help. Death and life is in the power of the tongueand those who ues it will eat the fruit thereof. Michael God loves you as much as he loves Jesus His son and Donnie. Read John 1 verse 12; romans 3 verse 23; John 3 verse 16. We pray for you.

Donnie McClurkin is not being attacked for what he believes… He’s being attacked because he’s a HYPOCRITE of the worst kind. He’s bashing gays for money, and yet having gay sex on the side. Donnie McClurkin is a PRIME example of why everyone should be suspicious of people who preach BIGOTRY toward gays under the guise of religion.

Larry Craig. Ted Haggard. Donnie McClurkin.

    GET IT ???

There’s no such thing as “Ex-Gay.” It’s a lie that takes millions of dollars to perpetuate, and even then it still doesn’t work.

It seems to me that there is a lot of judgement going on here. And I must admit, in the past, I’ve done a great deal of judging as well. Fortunately, I am learning how to simply “work out my own salvation,” and to pray for those desiring help.

The bottom line is, each person’s walk is their own. And what happens on Judgement Day is between God and each person. If there is any confusion over what’s right and wrong, go to the Word of God…not only one scripture, but ALL of it, “line upon line and precept upon precept.”

THE BIG QUESTION: Are people born gay?

ANSWER: Scientists still can’t agree. I personally feel that many people would like science to say yes, because it will give them justification (“If God created me this way, then He doesn’t mind it.”). Christians refuse to believe the possibility because it would suggest the same–“If God created it… HOWEVER, many Christians (gay or straight) fail to remember that the Bible says that we are born “into” sin. Therefore we all have sinful tendencies that we must continue to crucify (This is why Paul says “i die daily”). Because we have the sin of Adam, we are ALL sinners. Everyday we must fight our desires to give into sin, be it greed, pride, fornication..of ANY kind, hatred, jealousy, murder, laziness, gossiping, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

I have a sister who was baptized in Jesus’ name and has received to Holy Ghost. Nearly ten years ago she officially came out the closet. She has gone through moments of “deliverance” and has since fallen back into lesbianism. It may or may not be her decision to “feel” a certain way, but her actions are purely her choice. I told her, not to allow her “feelings” to dictate what she knows God wants her to do. Should I not pay my tithes because I don’t WANT to give my money to the church? Should I curse out the woman in line at the grocery store becuase she was rude? Should I avoid church beause there are hypocrites there? Should I kill the person who molested me because they took my innocence? Should I gossip about someone because I have juicy information that I know others want to hear? Should I jump into to bed with someone because it feels good? No, to all the above! We can’t rely on how we feel. It will get us into a lot of trouble.

This walk with God has nothing to do with our personal “feelings.” One of the Devil’s greatest trick was convincing people that if we feel it, it must be of God. However the Bible warns us that the “heart is above all things is despearately wicked. Who can know it?” But we msut, “In all our ways acknowledge Him and HE will direct our paths.” Don’t stray from the word of God. That is our only compass to Heaven.

I listen to Pastor McClurkin deliver his massage sunday after sunday when he’s the one delivering the message and I have to tellyou that he is truly a man of God. The bible says touch not my anointing and do my prophet no harm so I caution you all readers no matter what your sin because we all have them for the bible says all have sin and come short of Gods glory. The power of life and death lys in the tounge becareful that you don’t bring condemnation onto yourself and if you don’t know what that mean I urge you to sudy for Gods word say my people perish for the lack of knowlege. We were all created to be his people, but he allows us to choose. I will continue to pray for my Pastor he need stenght because he truly has enemys Gods will be done that’s all that matters. God bless you no matter what your sin is I pray for your soul.

“Love God and Do Whatever You Want,” St. Augustine. He wants us to discipline our desires. If some people can be celibate, then environmental, rather than biological elements determine our sexual drives.

The act is one thing (the flaw), the identity and self-deceptive endorsement of the act is what is to be avoided.

Prior generations have had their orgies, the lifestyle kills itself.

At the age of 70, I would want a kid, not a government to be my hope in the times of need. What of you.

The bottom line is we all must be humble before God, none of us , not a single soul, could stand if He began to mark our iniquities. Therefore we continue only because of His long-suffering and forebearance ( that it might lead us to repentance, that is a completely changed outlook in Christ) and we must show all forebearance, as far as posible following peace with all men, to our neighbours. None is perfect, not a one. We must judge ever with mercy as the Apostle James tells us.
I think is must especially be the case on the homosexual issue. It is for many, many a seemingly almost intractible need/urge/desire and those Christians I know who ARE gay all have told me their Christian walk has not granted total ‘release’ or ‘cure’ but rather a daily need for mortification of sin and sinful desire. It’s an ongoing battle for them, in other words, as opposed to an outright victory in this life! One can well understand when the needs are so basic or overwhelming why for some it just seems too much and they give up. However whether a lusty life or a monogamous bond is acceptable to God needs to be clear in the mind of each one following such a course. No one can pretend it’s easy!

So… here’s my take on the whole Homosexuality and Christianity. some may call it a lifestyle choice… same may say you are born that way… some might call it a disease… what ever. i dont understand homosexuality and i probably never will and what Christians fail to realize is that it’s not their place to judge anyone because i can just as easily call conservativism a disease and we all know that being republican is a disease. but thats not my point. we all do it on both sides of the street…. everyone on here who are generalizing blacks/ christians as homophobic monsters and those who are saying that gays are sinners are all wrong. yes there is a stigma over homosexuality particularly with black and yes we need to solve that problem but at the same time if you expect the SUPER CHRISTIANS to back off you should consider their feelings too because it’s not a one way street.

personally… i think u should love who u love. i dont care it’s not my place to say anything about how someone is living their life wen i am clearly a sinner too. i’m working through my issues as everyone else is and for people who dont know. the bible is a guideline for believers to live by and to preach by. it wasnt put there to judge ppl nor was it put their to dictate the lives of non-believers and ppl who are pushy are like that 9 times outta ten and hypocrites…. again in my opinion. my job is to tell u that Jesus loves u and that need to come home to him… not that u are going to hell… and i wish people would understand that…. but watev ( i probably drifted totally off topic because i do that… my fault ppl :-p )

Allow God to rule and reign, I dont think any of us are capable of doing it better. So until you have a heaven or hell to place anyone in let us keep our opinions , especially the negative ones to ourselves.

All of humanity is born with a sinful nature. It has been that way since Adam and Eve first choose to disobey God in the garden. There are people who are biologically prone to chemical dependence and alcoholism. Some scientist are now even claiming that they have even found a gene that makes some people predisposed to cheating. And, sadly, we tend to focus on everyone else’s sin rather than our own because it is easier to condemn others than submit our own selfish will to God and allow Him to slowly strip the sin from our hearts. It’s a slow process of growth, similar to Alcoholic’s Anonymous’s 12 Step Program. For those who have never read it, I have listed them below.

    1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol – that our lives had become unmanageable.

    2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

    3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

    4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

    5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

    6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

    7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

    8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

    9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

    10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

    11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

    12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

    John 8:42-47 (NKJV)
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

Being gay is no worse or no better than having sex outside of marriage, or worshiping idols, or people who cheat on their spouse.

    1 Corinthians 6:9 ((NKJV)
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites?

Now, some people try to say that they are born gay. Some people say the can’t help but steal. And, some people even claim that they can’t help but commit rape or molest children. Like I said in the beginning of my post, we are all born to sin. Its just up to us if we are going to be honest enough to look at ourselves instead of pointing our fingers at someone else and crying “He, or she, is so bad.” There is a great example of how God feels about this in the Bible in the Book of John.

    John 8 (NKJV)
1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early in the morning, He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then, the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience,[h] went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

The point that I am trying to make is that God loves us so much that He didn’t make us to be mindless robots. He gave us freedom of choice so that we could decide for ourselves if we wanted to live a holy life that is pleasing to God or not. If you do, then you should try to live by Jesus’s example and love everyone as He did. And if you don’t care what God want’s for you, then just me honest enough to say “It’s my choice and I will do as I want.” Don’t say that you aren’t doing anything wrong, because we all are.

To all those who feel the urge to “expose” Pastor D Mcclurkin, i want to say: The Pastor’s desire is to please and serve his Master, KING JESUS.The way i see it, Donnie is a party to a service contract with GOD, wherein he serves GOD to the benefit of GOD’s creation (repented and unrepented). So, if at anytime he should be a hypocrate, that will be breach of contract against GOD and GOD will call him to order, IF NEED BE. GOD doest need any man or woman’s assistance to expose the sins or weaknesses of HIS servants. So, IF, Ps Mcclurkin is living in hypocracy, let GOD expose him to the public. It is not for you or me to do so and if you critics of Donnie Mcclurkin keep trying to be GOD and trying to “expose” his servants, GOD will deal with you be it ever be so severaly. Michael Crawford and all other critics,Be warned what u say about the anointed servants of GOD (hypocrates or upright), GOD takes it personal! Because everytime you try to “expose” them, you are questioning GOD’s ability to do so HIMself in HIS own time, IF EVER NEEDED, and GOD doesnt take easy to that kind of undermining!!! I love homosexual people(the person) though i hate homosexuality(the sexual conduct & practice), but i will not single one particular person out and write critical columns about him/her, because that also is between that person and GOD.It is the conviction of GOD that inspires a change of heart, not condemning slamming with words. Let us be tolerant and most importantly, let us be fearful of GOD and LET GOD BE GOD!

I just wonder. If being homosexual is not a sin and supposedly nothing to be ashamed of, why are there so many homosexuals in the closet? If you were born that way, why are you hiding it? I was born heterosexual and not one bit ashamed to say it.
Now, through the years and through sexual experiences, I had started becoming attracted to women but only as another way to explore and fulfill sexual desires. It’s a choice. With God’s help, one I chose not to pursue.

Coming out of any Sin is a process! Whether it’s Donnie, Me or anyone else. All unrighteousness is Sin. The issue with Gay people is that they are “Comfortable” God is calling for us to be ” Sinless” when you’re car get’s stuck in the mudd, do you try to get it out or just stay there. It’s not about judgement it’s about being better. God honor’s effort and he will help you with any struggle if you are willing to help yourself. Hell is real and it will “House” many with various Sins. If you are not willing to do better by reading the word of God on how we are designed to live then hell is waiting for you whether you are Gay, Straight or confused. God demands “Change” we are only striving for perfection. God loves Gay people he just wants them to look deeper and get help in all the “Hurt” that the typical Gay Male/Female have experienced. “Change” is possible if you just believe.

It’s not about you or Donnie, it’s about Jesus. I am praying for you will be released from the “Strongman” that has you in bondage. I hope you can see what I am telling you in the “Spirit”. The Enemy is a mass confuser and will manipulate us all as he has done to me. Pray and ask God for a revelation and you shall see what has you bound. We all need to be in repentance and you will repent whether here or now, or the next level to come. Wakeup! God will show you the path.

Donnie McClurkin’s Music is very awsome and insperational. How ever I strongly disagree with his negative views on gay men what ever race they are. I’m 21 years old now and If God didn’t want me to be gay any more I would not be I saddly tried every thing ignorant church folk told me. I live in Spokane Washington. My uncle Alfonzo Steele and my aunt Cynthia Steele alowed me to be homeless with no money at 19. I lived on the streets for a whole year in 2007. You couldn’t pay me to go back. But in that time of pain and fear I still overcame as an African American gay man God did make gay men the bible has been taken way out of contexed get edgucated so you don’t look like a fool if you treat GLBTQ people like trash I know your not going to heaven God showed me a long time ago we are still His people and we need to watch the things we say and do homophobia is not from God and I bind those hateful spirits in the name of Jesus! And If Donnie is not or is Gay I have a scripture for him or who ever Revilations 21.8 look it up all liers shall have their place in the lake of fire (hell). Love you Donnie was forced by my homophobic uncle to watch Don’s dvd. Still black gay and too blessed to be stressed with the devils mess halla.

Being gay is not a demon spirit because if that’s the case then being straight is also a demon spirit humans lie, cheat, steal, and get caught up in adultry in the mind and in the phisical every day. God does not play favorites I ask God to help me every day and He does now I’m more honest with Him and my self. Your calling that a demon spirit Keisha. I’m going to pray God shows you what you said was not of Him. Also being gay is not a sin no it is not sin is an act. Homosexuality is a state of being. And Keisha In your opinion the ex-lover is a lier this could be Gods way of helping Donnie become more free because what ever the devil can keep silent and hidden but not from God he can torment you with and send demons in your life that will torment you nights and day’s Ooo Elalalala, boshonda sorry I’m speaking in tongues You need hard concreat facts before you go off calling people liers religion folks like some of us fools today called Jesus Christ Him self a lier and beat Him spit on Him pulled out His hair threw stones at Him and nailed Him to a cross piercing Him in the side to make sure my savior Jesus was dead. And I’m positive religion folk back then thought Jesus was posessed by demons too. Heres a sugestion don’t judge because God will judge you the same only a demon spirit would say something so ignorant honey I’m spiritual and I’m not going to hell over a sexual orientatin I’m going to heaven because not only do I know God in a personal way I have a serious deep no mess relationship with Him and He told me to tell you Kiesha to repent you don’t know what the ex-lover could be going through. You need to stop it!!!

And for all you haters out there that are just hateful get educated because you sound stupit your view is sometimes yours alone. Just remember God will have your re-play button when you die and you can explain to Him what made you say and do such terrible things. He takes care of me. God takes care of all his people straight or gay black or white and that guy that said he hates homosexuality your not loving the person your hating the person get it right. I’m happy as a gay black man as Vanessa Williams sang in 1997 (Happiness).God wants people to feel loved, excepted, respected. The world has changed in an excellent way God doesn’t care if your gay He made people to be just be and He gave out porposes and destinies to every individual in many different walks of life don’t be so sure that your right to condemnationalize some one and go with out punishment get with it your day is comming for crying out loud Obama will be the next president if your not ready for world change well you better get ready because rather you belive it’s Gods change or not your going to get short changed and caught up in the undertough. Gods true people are not homophobic. Here is a fact in closing asking someone not to be gay is just like asking a girl not to be a girl anymore or asking someone not to be black anymore. Their is nothing gone wrong in Gods plan God is perfect. It has been scientifically proven being gay has to do with chromozones and other special fetures in the human body. But yet people do and say stupit uneducated things. The Lord God is not pleased and He will have His say. I am pretty sure Hate is not what God wants. Hate destroys hate causes and finishes wars. Gay is not a struggle in my opinion it is a privalege. And the rest of the haters get over it before God slaps the crap out you and He will too I’m willing to bet my life on it I’ve seen Him do it God and I are married don’t mess with me. Thank you Donnie McClurkin for singing the song (Stand) and I’m still standing holla !!!

Heterosexuals stop telling us not to be gay.We can’t tell you to be gay frankly me even concidering having a sexual thought or desire for a women is just descusting, ubserd, grotesq. Also being gay is not a choice your ticking me off when you say (life style) what your really saying is it’s a choice thats a bounch of who shot Jhon. Sexual orientation’s are not a choice when you have super natural matchless power like God then tell some one not to be gay however if you haven’t ever been a homosexual like my self you have no ground in this subject. Thats the same as a man saying he knows what it feels like to have a baby. Well I have your anser no he does not. Did you chose to be straight not jumping on you just want to know really because still sounding the way we sounded 10 years ago is just pathetic and Christians try to say their ready for God sad day they are not. And sinless is wonderful to the lord however when pride gets involved you fall thats a scripture. I really pitty sad pathetic people who think God is going to let them come waltsing into heaven over them being almost perfect nongay antigay heterosexual please don’t touch me kind of people. O-yes metoo51 talkin ish anser this question why do so many so called heterosexual men salicid gay men for sex and try to hide it? Some of us have been murdered over that kind of mess so you need to pump yo breaks you don’t want to have sex with men guess what I don’t want to have sex with women and maybe their not hiding it maybe they didn’t want to deal with jerks like ya self you where born a heterosexual you say and you stand by it well do that and shut up. I was born gay and i’ll challenge you any day. The same way your atracted to a women is the same way i’m atracted to a man. And I’m not ashamed I go to a wonderful church called EMCC (Emanual Metropolitan Comunity Church) look it up when you have the time. Do you want to know why i’m stronger than you? Because i’m better not bitter it’s creeps like you that tryed to kill me in 2007 well you better watch it because God will crush you honey. And for the record God doesn’t send any one to hell people chose to go to hell thats right He said I set before you life and death blessings and curses He chose for us He said therfore chose life to the religious homophobic part of my generation if according to your judgement I’m going to burst hell wide open due to the fact that I was a homosexual then God must be pretty small. Since your so right tell me this why didn’t Jesus Him self condemn Homosexuality He was God in the flesh. The bible states do not add or subtract to it however to think within 2000 years of wars and likes dislikes ext to think no one added things to the bible is just plain uneducated there are things people interpret through the bible that I belive they are going to pay the piper for and I don’t want to be even ten people behind them on judgement day in Gods courtroom they’re going to get torn up from the floor up. Straight’s and gay’s have been here the same amount of time. God made Adam&Eve,Adam&Steve and every thing in between it’s 2008 i’m doing the job God wants me to do i’m showing gay’s that God does love them that it’s not a sin or a demon or a (strongman). Homophobia came from a word called (patriarccy)(A hate for women or any thing feminin look it up. In closing it’s time to get over it David Williams watch that fonky mouth God heard you. 47 Heres what I have to say to you girl you can agree with Donnie on the issue of homo no mo all you want just do ya self a favor and go back and study the bible on deformalities again because that doesn’t come from homosexuality it comes from family incest. Also when Jesus went to the cross the old laws pased away besides the 10 comandment’s He didn’t do that for nothing Jesus was the ultimate sacrifist for all sin and sin is something you can change there is no such thing as ex-gay straight is straight and gay is gay some of yall need to not quit ya day job’s get another one and get with it who I marry besides God is none of your bisiness who I sleep with in my bedroom is frankly none of your business I love all yall haters out there that curse me and want to nail me to the cross regardless who I sleep with is without a doubt non of your bisiness get a job

I believe that the Bible (New international Version) states quit clearly in the book of 1Corinthians 6:9-10 which says ” Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? do not be deceived: Neither the sexual immoral…nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders…will inherit God’s Kingdom” One cannot take part or be part of this ‘trend’ and be in God’s kingdom be it in heaven or in the new earth. But Paul states that yet this is what some of us were… however we have been washed, sanctified, justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior He is able to keep you for His strength is made perfect in our weakness. So Donnie… keep relying on the strength of Jesus…much love and keep the faith………

Has anyone noticed, no one signed this article. It’s all a lie to try and find someone who says they slept with a Pastor. How can you say you want people to respect GAY people, but GAY people don’t respect STRAIGHT people.

If you don’t like the bible, don’t read it.
If you don’t like church, don’t go.
If you don’t like God, don’t serve him.
    It’s your right.

67 Simple let me say something to you this is far more than just a respect issue, this is about lieing and equal right’s to another human being. People lie every day that includes pastors because they are human. Be vary careful with the words you spew out of your mouth, I respect all heterosexual induvidual’s the way some of them act tward gay induvidual’s is just unexceptable and demonic furthermore you said everyone in the world can’t be gay because it would end the human race, listen toot’s every one was not created straight that’s just the way God is because He’s shown me every day. And If everyone can believe what they want to believe than why my self and other God beloved human being’s being denied our basic fundamental right’s. And please do not even try and use the Holy Bible because I am not only a Christian believer I am also edgucated. Let me help you get your foot out of your mouth some of us don’t respect each other it’s a small word called ignorance. However saddly maybe you don’t get that. And I am going to tell why I pray we respect each other beter because the devil doesn’t want us too and this year i’m going after that merderous hateful evil demon spirit, with God’s help because it is due time that demon is going down do you understand me that demon is going down, It would be a shame if you went down with it in the end. God created evey one’s sexual orientation it was not just one type! Edgucation time here’s a golden nugget take it or leave it if the Lord created different spiecies of plant’s , animals even dinasours because it has been proven that they existed, anser me this why could He as God not do the same in man and women kind sorry but the God I serve did do so freely and He is not ashamed some of man kind is apperently. I leave you with this since it’s simple get edgucated because obiously you don’t respect me good luck in all you do in life I hope you are blessed by God protected and prospered and not taken down with the devil’s hate. and the rest of you haters out there trying to hate and disriminate exclusivly any kind of god that is desribed at any time that hate’s people for who they are not by your standerds who they are but every part of who they are including the essence meaning very core of a person wow some of you think that your serving God good luck I just described the devil your serving the devil and he is not a God he is a result of those who can’t get it together and a sad ending for others like ignorand heterosexuals and gay people who do evil. Get a job or another one better heres me doing mine kicking the devils but. I’ll be back

    crap..
i don’t believe this..and even if it’s true….he came out to openly and said so.He probably has said it to God too and trust me, God forgave him a long time ago..long before he came out..long before all the condemnation started..Remember King David of old, he was involved with another man’s wife, he also murdered and God forgave him..i mean, God did not have a problem keeping him as king even after that..so Pst Donnie, you are still very much annointed..if this is true, God has forgiven you and given you the ability not to do this anymore..His grace is sufficient for you..God will still use you for your generation..i have been blessed by your music..you’re my favorite..and you will remain just that for ages to come.

If any man says he is without sin he is a liar. Hypocrite is a word thrown out by people who struggle with their own guilt of sin. I don’t know Donnie’s personal sins and don’t need to know.

By this standard of perfection we are all hypocrites. No minister could ever teach that anything is wrong because they all do wrong at some point. That does not mean that he or she cannot say what the Bible says. The standard is the standard.

We cannot hate people because they believe what the bible says.

I really can’t believe this. It shows that anyone can write an article (even if it’s not even written all that well).

Pastor McClurkin…who is MY pastor…is an honorable man. I believe, and many people believe, that a person can be changed by God. I have gay friends. Do I rally for gay rights? No. Do I tell my sons that its ok for them to be gay? No. Because I do not believe that it’s the choice of living that my religious beliefs allows.

Pastor McClurkin is a great man. The fact that this so-called “bed buddy”…who we know can’t be real because they won’t even come forward (oh yea…but they are proud of being gay, right?)…this is all rediculous.

    Try again…

You need something better to do then to tear a brother in Christ. Why dont you do a self examination before you examine someone else. Try praying instead of digging.

Homosexuality is sin. God will judge. You may feel that you were born that way, thats why the bible says you must be born again.
If you die and haven’t been forgiven for that sinful lifestyle, you will wake up in Hell. Period….

we all need God regardless, not because we sin but because we were born sinners. We all have struggles, even after salvation, I myself struggled with fornication but God delivered me, GLORIOUSLY! If he did that for me he can break any sinful tendencies we may have.
I ask all the folks who think this gay lifestyle is right, look a nature, our sexual organs are made to produce first and foremost and I a sorry but two of the same cannot produce life. Two veginas and something false cannot and neither can a penis and a man’s (well you know). When a man reaches a climax sperm comes out and that has only one purpose which is to fertilze an egg, pleasure is secondary.
You may say that it feels natural but ask most men and they will let you know it feels natural to have more than one woman and lust but that does not make it right.
We must understand that man is not the author if wrong or right but God is the ultimate Judge and He has given us His word as a guide, “lean not to your own understanding”
I plead with you in Jesus’ name, turn to Him and he will help you in your struggles, He really will. “ANY MAN” without Christ is destined for eternal torment, but with Him eternal pleasure, no more pain, crying, sickness, struggles! Jesus has gone to prepare a place and we all can go, anyone who calls on the name of The LORD (Jesus) shall be saved; call on him please, today is the acceptable day of Salvation!

    God Bless!!

This is the best comment made yet that I’ve read. All these other hoo-la-la gay people talking all this negative stuff about D. Mcclurkin and other people that are trying to do right by God are making me want to Hurl(something at them that is). They need to be all round up and thrown back into a “Steel Closet” and not let out until they’re ready to listen to God, and stop believing the lies of the devil that they are born that way. God would never create something and turn around and hate it. He says…nor homosexuals will inherit the kingdom of God (ICorinthians 6:9). He made Eve for Adam not for Alice, nor Steve for Adam. cuss me if you like but I stand on God’s word.

hey u know we should all know that there is sin among us being gay, cheating, lying, stealing, fornicating, gossiping and a whole lot. I believe that most of us we try to justify ourselves yet we know we doing wrong. folks Jesus is coming whether u like it or not so be ready, some might say oh God loves all true that but if u sin there is punishment waiting for you, Jesus died for sinners yes but the sinners who realized this then repented from sin and they are trying to please God so dont lie to yourselves saying God loves Homosexuality he does`t even the bible says so. Where is Soddom and Gommorah? we are a generation thats blessed bcoz we all know that Jesus died for us hence we should believe and repent from sin. People wake up wake up, pray for wisdom so that u might have the mind of God. No one is allowed to judge but u can advice a person if they are wrong. Pastor Donnie all I can say is God loves u u have blessed a lot of people with yr music and preaching and I tell you that u should thank God that u realized the sin and u did flee away from it, it shows that the devil is not happy about your move nowonder why this website was created, u know what keep going on and hey we all are praying that God protects from the devil and and gives u more revelation in your preaching and music. jus went thru some few comments and all I WONDER IS DO THOSE PEOPLE EVEN TAKE TIME TO READ THE WORD OF GOD . They should all know that TGE DEVIL IS THE GREATEST LIAR DONT BE FOOLED HELL IS REAL

I can tell that some people have nothing better to do with them self’s but to put down a man of God. To the whant a be man that so called slept with Donnie you are just saying all this beacuse you have not found the Lord for your self.. If all would take six mo. to take care of there own problems and six mo. to leave other peoples alone they would find out that God could work out more of there problems and maybe just maybe they could get their own lives in order. To many of you dont have a prayer life nore are you saved so I would sujust that you find God before you listen to idle gossip. I pray that some one will heed the WORD’S OF THE LORD AND TURN FROM ALL YOUR WICKED WAYS AND STOP CAREING ALL THE BONES FROM THE LORDS GRAVE YEARD.

This gay novel has pretty extreme views about religion and being gay all done in a sci-fi style sory, the writer was even almost killed when this book was first published. After being banned in his own country it is now available.
check the plot – As predicted by Isaac Newton the second coming happened and as the world waited to see what was about to happen an appointed man was sent to meet God, hours later God had vanished and the man came out immortal; no apocalypse, no destruction and no salvation. This gave birth to a chain of holy wars that almost chattered Earth’s civilizations and so giving birth to a mass colonization of planets to ensure peace by separation. Thousands of years later all was at peace by until Endings were born; humans connected to their planets in such a way that they are capable of destroying them should they wish it. Now Earth’s Ending has been born and the day to pass judgment draws near.

I’m so sick and tired of the religious diatribes that go on and on in their shame based fear based b.s. “we’re all sinners. We all have come short, blah blah blah blah blah. We’ve come short of what? Some sort of perfection that someone expects of each of us? Man this is a very limiting and non-progressive way of thinking. I believe in infinite and universal salvation. Jesus died for all and He saves all. In other words all will eventually be saved end of story. I don’t believe in hell because Christ overcame death and hell. So to keep on and on about fear and shame is so so old testament and so not about love and life. Homosexual orientation is a divine gift from God just as heterosexual orientation. When people hate that part of themselves they actually end up creating their own personal hell and then their sexuality does eventually come out; but it comes out in a very sick and twisted way just as it has with McClurkin. I think several Christians simply are addicted to self loathing and they project that self-hate outside of themselves so far away from authentic love and life centered Christianity that it’s a tragedy. There are some Christians who have finally transcended a lot of that. People like Joel Olstein and others who focus on what is positive because when you focus on the negative you end up with a dead law and the law only brings forth fear. Fear is not what Jesus is about.

    Dear Sonnie,
As I send this comment, I send it in love. I know you know that you must be completely delivered from sin. Any sin. However, the Word of God places homosexuality as abominable.
Commit your ways unto the Lord and he will direct your path.We love your singing ministry but you also influence our young people. They need examples and you are one. God is not unfaithful to forget your labor of love but it must be done purely and not in iniquity. Seek the Lord and be strengthened.Bless you.

I just happened upon this blog, and I feel it necessary to state here that it’s hateration to claim that anyone who doesn’t agree with the LGBT lifestyle is a “homophobe”. People have a right to their opinion, and it’s important that although their opinion may not jibe with yours. they are still entitled. A differing viewpoint doesn’t mean it’s hatred or even incorrect .
I applaud Donnie McClurkin for taking a stand, albeit an unpopular one. Homosexuality is a CHOICE, plain and simple. I don’t think it’s wise to demand that this condition be normalized through forcing it upon people. I don’t agree with the lifestyle, but I say live any way you choose without forcing people to accept it as normal.

I think all homosexuals need to pray against it because its wrong in the eyes of God. It will not be an easy process but its something you all have to battle against and you will be rewarded for it in the end. Being gay doesn’t do anyone any favours, its knocks off 20 years off your life span, your 50 times more likely to catch HIV….there are so many reasons why be gay is just not the one. So people don’t be hating on Donny but follow his footsteps: he started by disregarding his actions with words and now by the grace of God he’s now straight. Its hard to stop a bad habit just like that…he had to start from somewhere.

Jesus said, he who is without sin, cast the first stone…guess what the accusers slipped away..Jesus said Woman go and sin no more…As Pastor Donnie said…we fall down but got up, for a saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up. We Christians and non Christians like to sensationalize certain sins..sin is sin and the bible say for all has sinned and come short…we point at Pastor Donne, but when we lie, or gossip, or sow dicord, give false measure etc we are doing things that are an abomination unto the Lord. Murder is a sin, cheating is a sin, fornication is a sin, gossipping is a sin. The person who dont speak to their neighbor or who did not tell their husband good morning because they are mad with them…the person who habour ill thoughts is in the same boat that Pastor Donnie was in…for we sin in word, thought or deed. By the way have we ever been lied on, we we heard things about ourselves and it happen to be the first time we hearing it…from someone else…Has a jilted lover ever said malicious and spiteful things because of jealousy, because we have moved on or because they can not have their way with us….I am sure that at least one of us out there has been in that position…Listen God is the only judge, he dont need any help form any of us. Pastor Donne, be of good faith, the Lord is on your side and he promised never ever to leave you or forsake you. Keep your store house sanctified and available for God’s use…you have much more to do…Personally I am grateful to God that he used your music and your testimony to get be back on my feet..you see even some of our Pastors try to tell us that there is a point that God wont study us. But as long as God woke me up it is a new day and another opportunity to Get Up and Live the way that God would have me live…I am a Christian, a young woman.
