Donnie McClurkin: Drama Queen

October 30, 2007 at 7:41 am 16 comments

Say what you will about gospel singer Donnie McClurkin claiming to be an “ex-gay.” One thing for certain is that girl he is a serious drama queen.

At the recent gospel campaign event for Barack Obama, McClurkin got all diva like with his homophobia claiming among other things “God delivered me from homosexuality.” Never mind the damage that his ridiculous outburst would likely have on Barack’s campaign, McClurkin had something to say and no man, not even the potential next president of the United States was going to keep him down.

From the NYT:

He approached the subject gingerly at first. Then, just when the concert had seemed to reach its pitch and about to end, Mr. McClurkin returned to it with a full-blown plea: “Don’t call me a bigot or anti-gay when I have suffered the same feelings,” he cried.

“God delivered me from homosexuality,” he added. He then told the audience to believe the Bible over the blogs: “God is the only way.” The crowd sang and clapped along in full support.

Donnie, the truth will come out the next time you “suffer from those feelings” and seek warmth in the arms of another man. And when it does, we will gladly and gleefully shatter the glass house of internalized homophobia that you have built for yourself. Despite your protestations of innocence, you have declared yourself to be at war with homosexuality and we gays are no longer a “gentle angry people.”

Michael, get a life with God for yourself and you will understand why Donnie is ex-gay as you also will be ex-gay. I hope you already are ex-gay by now. I pray for you.

leave Pastor Donnie alone and let him live his life, I pray that he has been delivered from homosexuality, but if he has not, he still can sing a song that will lift you beyond this world and he can preach your soul happy

Donnie is my Pastor and I will say that he is not gay. What ever he did in his past should stay in the past. I’m sure that there are many more men in the world who are not even strong enough to talk about their past!!!

We all have a past and most of us are ashamed to even talk about it. Temptations from our past crop up when we least expect them, but when we have built a strong relationship with God, we are able to conquer and remain on top of things. Stop throwing stones at other people because of their past. Deal with yours… Good luck.

why is it that gay ppl are screaming that ex gays are causing suicide but are willing to go out and gleefully pull down a man supposedly gay it wrong if he says he is changed and free then let it be its a free world he is not saying kill the gays he is saying for those who dont want to be there is a way out if u try. i think gay people are selffish and they are out for themselves and themselves alone and tend to over react. whats so wrong with saying u can stop being gay if some ppl feel they have being gay is an action u do its not printed on ur face the difference btw a gay man and straight man is what they do in bed or are gays a different species seriously fight for ur rights if they are true and stop being scared that if ppl turn away from being gay it means that u have a choice too. i think gays are scare for this reason if there is a powerful person who says they are free it would cause ripple effect and then ppl might begin to question the cchoice thing

Only God can help anyone who wants out of the gay lifestyle. You have to want out first, then invite God into your situation and you will be well on your way out. Good luck!

This gay novel has pretty extreme views about religion and being gay all done in a sci-fi style sory, the writer was even almost killed when this book was first published. After being banned in his own country it is now available.
check the plot – As predicted by Isaac Newton the second coming happened and as the world waited to see what was about to happen an appointed man was sent to meet God, hours later God had vanished and the man came out immortal; no apocalypse, no destruction and no salvation. This gave birth to a chain of holy wars that almost chattered Earth’s civilizations and so giving birth to a mass colonization of planets to ensure peace by separation. Thousands of years later all was at peace by until Endings were born; humans connected to their planets in such a way that they are capable of destroying them should they wish it. Now Earth’s Ending has been born and the day to pass judgment draws near.

My name is Patrisha and I am a sinner saved by grace.
Romans 9:26, For the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for
us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
verse 28: All things work together for good to them that love
    the Lord
    Now this is the one!
(Romans 7:14-25), SO THEN WITH THE MIND I MYSELF SERVE THE LAW OF GOD; BUT WITH THE FLESH THE LAW OF SIN
So he that is without sin cast the first stone.
Donnie you should have left him sitting watching tv, he is not
your friend, spiritual or otherwise. Keep fighting and we will
become overcomers, I am fighting out against overeating.
I will continue to hold your name in prayer
Want to see you at the Tree of Life along with Olivia
    Love You,
    Your Sister In Christ Jesus
    Patrisha
