Obama’s Iowa Victory Speech

Here is the speech that Barack Obama delivered on winning the Iowa caucuses by a wide margin.

They said that this day would never come. They said our sights were set to high. They said this country was too divided, too disillusioned to ever come together around a common purpose. But, on this January night, at this defining moment in history, you have done what the cynics have said we couldn’t do!

You made me feel something tonight that I have not felt for a long time. Hope, I love this country and feel there is none better, I served my country in the USMC. Being with my fellow Marines in the field I felt a feeling that I have only felt again tonight. We are one great powerful country. Our greatness is tied to our unity as a people. That one fact ,that we are many who became one is the key to our power and our greatness. There are those who would destroy all that we stand for, all that we have become, they will not succeed if we find our power in our unity and diversity. God Bless America.
