Clinton Praises John McCain, Again

March 7, 2008 at 10:10 am 2 comments

You have to wonder if Hillary Clinton is running for the Republican VP spot rather than the Democratic presidential nomination. How else do you explain Clinton’s constant praising of McCain as being more qualified for the presidency than Barack Obama, the Democratic frontrunner?

Here is the latest Clinton endorsement of John McCain:

“I think that since we now know Sen. (John) McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold,” the New York senator told reporters crowded into an infant’s bedroom-sized hotel conference room in Washington.

“I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy,” she said.

Calling McCain, the presumptive GOP nominee a good friend and a “distinguished man with a great history of service to our country,” Clinton said, “Both of us will be on that stage having crossed that threshold. That is a critical criterion for the next Democratic nominee to deal with.”

Wow. Clinton has already given McCain the perfect footage to use in an attack ad against Obama, now this?

Don’t you think that this suggests that there is no way HRC is going to go down gracefully? I think it’s ridiculous to think that she is just going to step aside and let Obama go for it. It’s almost like saying “me, or nobody.” I really am afraid that the party is going to be hurt with this election.

This just popped up on the bbc:
Obama Aide Quits After calling Clinton a Monster…
I’m sure the A.P. and everywhere else has it too, just happen to be there then. Thought of you and your interesting political posts…and was wondering if you knew anything about Ms. Powers. I’m one of those “will vote Democrat no matter what” but am curious about why she was so vocal.
    Thanks, The Hostess.
