Republican Did Not Rape, But Had Lots of Gay Sex on Tape

It has been clear for a long time that Republicans are far more obsessed with gay sex than any of us card carrying militant homosexuals. In the light of day Republicans foam at the mouth about The Gay Agenda to destroy marriage and Western Civilization while behind closed doors they are engaging in amounts of gay sex that most of us don’t even dream of.

Take Cumberland County Commissioner Bruce Barclay, for example. Barclay resigned his seat on the county commission on April 2 after it became public that he was under investigation for allegedly raping a 20 year old man at his home. As you would imagine, Barclay called the accusation “ludicrous” and his lawyer declared “It will be defended forever and is wrong.”

Police got a warrant to search Barclay’s home and while they did not find evidence that a rape occurred, they did find hundreds of videotapes of Barclay and other men having sex.

Barclay, who has admitted to hiring prostitutes on a weekly basis from http://www.harrisburgfratboys.com, made the homemade porn tapes without the knowledge or consent of the men he had sex with. The recording devices were hidden in radios, motion detectors and intercom speakers. One of the tapes showed Barclay and the alleged rape victim engaging in consensual sex.

The rape charge against Barclay has been dropped, but he has a lot of explaining to do as he now faces the possibility of charges of privacy violations and promoting prostitution.

Will the last homosexual who exits the Republican closet please shut off the light and end the GOP’s anti-gay ways once and for all?

Making the World Safer for Anal Sex

My friend Jim Pickett is obsessed with anal sex. So much so that he recently traveled from Chicago to New Delhi to get a little action. You will probably remember Jim from his post The Future of Anal Sex.

Jim went to New Delhi was not because of an inability to get a date in Chicago, but because of his role as chairman of International Rectal Microbicides Advocates (IRMA). On February 24th IRMA issued a new report called Less Silence, More Science that looked at the history of research into rectal microbicides as a way to reduce the number of HIV infections and urges the U.S. government to step up with more research funding. A microbicide is an agent could potentially be used as part of a lube or douche to prevent the transmission of HIV.

A paltry $7 million a year is being spent on research into rectal microbicides, only about 3 percent of the total microbicide portfolio. Almost all of the rectal funding is coming from the National Institutes of Health. IRMA is calling for a five-fold increase to $35 million by 2010, and a diversification of funding from multiple sources.

Common misconceptions are that only gay men are interested in a rectal microbicide and that heterosexuals don’t engage in anal sex. But research shows otherwise. Studies in the United States and the United Kingdom have found that anywhere from 10 percent to 35 percent of heterosexual women have engaged in anal sex.

Check out Life Lube for more info on Jim’s travels and the efforts to make anal sex safer.

Love is a Four Letter Word

It is almost spring and gay hearts are turning to thoughts of love. So are the makers of the new gay romantic comedy A Four Letter Word.

A Four Letter Word is among the newer crop of gay films not obsessed with coming out and the traumas that can sometimes come with being gay and living in a not so welcoming world, but instead celebrate our lives and loves.

The film will first be shown at GLBT film festivals around the country before opening at a movie theater near you. Check out the A Four Letter Word site for more details.

Let the manhunt begin!

Condom-Free Sex?

Recently researchers at the University of Geneva presented a position paper saying that HIV+ people taking antiretroviral drugs cannot transmit HIV during sex under certain circumstances. Needless to say this caused a storm of controversy among AIDS organizations and activists with many decrying the very thought of thinking about HIV+ people having sex with condoms.

The report “based on four studies said that couples with one HIV-positive partner do not need to use condoms to prevent HIV transmission provided that the HIV-positive partners are adhering to their treatment regimens, have suppressed HIV viral loads for at least six months and do not have any other sexually transmitted infections.”

Regan Hoffman, editor of Poz Magazine interviewed Bernard Hirschel, MD, of the University Hospital, Geneva about the study. You can view the study here.

Following up on my list of 10 Books Every Gay Boy Should Read, here are 10 Films Every Gay Boy Should See.

This list is in no particular order and captures some of the most diverse images of gay men on film. There are undoubtedly other films that have special meaning to you, please share them in the comments.

1. Gay Sex in the 70s – is a fascinating look at gay life in NYC after the Stonewall riots in the period often referred to as the golden era of gay sexual liberation before the AIDS epidemic unleashed its hellacious fury on gay men.

CDC Statement on Gay Men and Drug Resistant Staph

The Center for Disease Control released a statement to shed some light on the recent story about drug resistant staph infections among gay men that has anti-gay activists in full fledged gay sex panic mode.

The sane perspective on MRSA is useful to keep in mind. I don’t expect this to keep the anti-gay haters from hating.
